From the tiny village of Imilchil comes Morocco's very own Romeo and Juliet story. Born from the legend of Issly and Tisset, two star-crossed lovers forbidden to marry, the Imilchil betrothal festival sees disparate nomads come together once a year for a three day festiavl in which up to 40 potential brides and grooms commit to marriage. The Brides of Imichil follows the wheelings and dealings of two families as they prepare, coach, and negotiate their young bride and young groom into the very serious business of marriage.
